Kerry is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who enjoys working with kids, families, and adults. She graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in Psychology and a Masters in Counselor Education. Kerry has experience working in the school setting as well as private practice to help individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. She believes that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing, and she works collaboratively with her clients to help them achieve their goals in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. Specifically, Kerry works to address topics related to anxiety, grief, adjustment issues, developing social skills, emotional regulation, navigating complicated peer and family relationships, communicating effectively, and navigating challenging behaviors at school or home.

Kerry uses a variety of therapeutic approaches to address each client’s unique needs. She incorporates attachment theory, understanding the crucial role that early relationships play in shaping emotional well-being. She also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients address negative thought patterns, empowering them to make lasting, positive changes in their lives and the lives of their families.

With a deep understanding of how children process and express emotions, Kerry integrates play therapy into her work with younger clients. This approach allows children to communicate in a way that feels safe and natural to them, helping them explore their feelings and gain insight into their challenges.

At the core of Kerry’s practice is a client-centered approach, where she meets each client where they are, fostering a sense of trust and safety that supports healing. Whether working with children, individuals, or families, she tailors her approach to create a space where her clients can feel understood, supported, and empowered to make positive changes.

Outside of the work of counseling, Kerry enjoys spending time with her husband and new puppy. She loves to cook, craft, and most of all be outside on a nice weather day!
